Obituary for Rev. Shelby Money

Rev. Shelby Money, age 92, went to be with the Lord Wednesday October 22, 2014. He passed away peacefully at Pineville Community Hospital in Pineville, Kentucky with his family at his bedside.

Born March 24, 1922, he was the son of the late Hilary D. Money and the late Rhoda Money. He was the former Pastor of and a longtime member of East Pineville Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his wife Isabell who he married on August 8, 1941 in Balkan Kentucky. In addition to her he was preceded in death by two brothers, Andy and Jay, and seven sisters, Lucy, Norma, Henrietta, Lulu, Margie, his twin sister Pauline, and Nancy.

He was known as loving and caring father, husband, grandfather, great grandfather and friend to all who knew him.

Survivors include his 3 sons, Glen (Patty) Money of Waterford, Michigan, Andy (Lourene) Money of Yorba Linda, California and Shelby W. (Carol) Money of Mount Clemens, Michigan, Grandchildren Jennifer (David) Harris, Aaron Money, Melissa Money of California, Mary (James) Casazza, William Money, Emily Money, Molly Money and Zachary Money of Michigan, 4 Great Grandchildren, Abraham Harris, Samuel Harris and Benjamin Harris of California, and Myles Casazza of Michigan, former daughters-in-law, Lorraine and Brenda, many nieces and nephews in Kentucky, Ohio and Michigan, and a bounty of special friends and loved ones.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Sunday October 26th at East Pineville Baptist Church with the Rev. Murphy Buell, Rev. Mark Hunter, Rev. Larry Head, Rev. John Ledger, Rev. Terry Brock, Rev. Tab Hunter and Trey Brock. Music will be provided by East Pineville Church Choir, Alan and Linda Barton, Terry Miracle and Marion Lawson. Entombment will follow at Green Hills Memorial Gardens in Middlesboro.

Pallbearers Terry Miracle, Aaron Money, Zachary Money, Tim Cornelus, J.C. Newport, William Money and HD Miracle. Honorary Pallbearers are all men he has pastored at East Pineville Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday October 25th at Creech Funeral Home Chapel. Masonic services will follow at 8:00 p.m. with Bell Lodge 691 F&AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to East Pineville Baptist Church.
